Tower skybridge completed

The Exchange Tower in Bangkok  has officially opened a new sky bridge connection between the 42-storey  building and nearby BTS and MRT stations.
Exchange Tower recently hosted the opening ceremony for for the bridge which runs across the second floor of the retail plaza directly to the Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT stations. The sky bridge is the latest in Bangkok and offers convenient access for tenants and the public to and from Exchange Tower.

At the opening ceremony, M.R. Chatu Mongkol Sonakul, Chairman of M.T.R. Asset Managers Co. Ltd., was the guest of honour, and Mr. Arkom Barameechai, Chief Administrative Officer of Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Co. Ltd., was the guest speaker. They were welcomed by Mr. Chia Ngiang Hong and Mr. Suchad Chiaranussati, Board Directors of Exchange Tower Ltd. and Mr. Arthur Choo, Managing Director of Exchange Tower Ltd.

“With the bridge completed, the walk between Exchange Tower and the Asoke BTS station only will take about two minutes and pedestrians will be able to travel in complete comfort and safety, completely elevated above the traffic,” According to Mr. Choo. With this sky bridge, we can connect not only to the BTS but also the MRT. This will greatly boost levels of convenience when travelling to and from Exchange Tower.”

The construction of the BTS sky bridge was started in October 2007 and it has been officially operational since 20 June, having taken eight months to complete. The sky bridge allows users to access the complete BTS and MRT network, by interlinking escalators and stairs through the Asoke BTS station.

Exchange Tower is a 42-storey grade A commercial building, located at the junction of Sukhumvit and Ratchadapisek Roads, consisting of 36,000 and 6,000 square metres of office and retail space, respectively. Its current occupancy rate stands at 90%, with True Fitness, Fujitsu, Aeon, Bristol Myers Squibb as its major tenants, and the rental ranges from 800 to 850 baht per square metre.
