Many properties feature direct access to secluded beaches, so you can start the day with a gorgeous sunrise run along the surf. If you prefer to do your run on a treadmill in the air-conditioned comfort of your villa’s private gym, this is also an option to get your fitness fix.

Stretch It Out

Thailand is home to a plethora of yoga and wellness retreats, particularly on southern islands like Koh Samui and Phuket. If you fancy having a go yourself, then why not hire a yoga teacher to come directly to your private villa for a one-to-one class? There are plenty of spaces to roll out your mat, from the property’s private gym to the relaxation sala overlooking the ocean. You can re-create the atmosphere of a yoga retreat as well, by piping relaxing music through your villas top-of-the-range sound system during the class.

Fighting Fit

Muay Thai boxing is Thailand’s national sport, and if you’ve been inspired by watching one of the fight shows whilst on holiday, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. Not only are the islands home to a choice of Muay Thai camps where you can pick up the basics, but if you already know what you’re doing you can work out with the punch bag in your villa’s private gym. To get you in the mood, instead of relaxation music, why not pipe your favourite fight tunes through the villa’s sound system to inspire you?

Refresh Yourself

Swimming is an excellent way to keep fit. It’s a low impact activity that won’t damage your joints. Many of Thailand’s finest private holiday properties come with their own gorgeous private infinity pools, so it’s possible to swim as many laps as you want before heading to the kitchen to indulge in a healthy breakfast. If you’re feeling wiped out after 50 lengths, then head to your villa’s hot tub to soak aching muscles in the hot water. Or, better yet, hire a professional masseuse to give you a massage.

Burn Calories at Sea

If you want to add a little adventure to your holiday fitness regime, then a private villa is the perfect place to do so. Many of the villas that feature direct beach access also come with their own kayaking and paddle boarding equipment, giving you the perfect opportunity to get active and explore the coast at the same time. Snorkelling equipment is also provided in many properties, so you have the chance to catch a glimpse of the underwater world while getting some exercise too.
